Hi, I’m Logan. I am a 27 year old graphic designer from Indiana
I will be earning my BFA in graphic design and my BS in Informatics (essentially information technology) this December (2018). I returned to school two years ago to earn my BFA because I was always passionate about design. From a very early age, I was always interested in the visual elements of something and what those said to me. I knew that if I left school, I probably wouldn’t return for my BFA, so I applied and was accepted.
Since then I have been working with a few clients and I have had a couple internships, which has been invaluable. But, the thing that helped me learn why I want to be a designer and how I design was a product of my personal projects. I was always drawn to typography and how far it could be pushed to become evocative of the subject matter. This evolved into me picturing typography as the main element of many of my designs and how it could interact with the subject matter rather than just adhere to typographic rules.
This deep analysis of typography allowed me to better understand formal characteristics of letters and therefore the shapes in the world that surrounds us. I’m able to better connect with the true nature of a problem because of the analytical skills I have developed and produce unique and emotionally charged design solutions.
